The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit brought by CME Group concerning crypto perpetual futures. The legal dispute centers on the CME Group’s challenge over regulatory oversight of these crypto derivatives.

According to CoinTelegraph, lawyers representing the CFTC described the lawsuit as "much ado about nothing," arguing that CME Group lacks the legal standing to bring the case. The agency also contested the claims made by CME regarding the regulation of crypto perpetual futures.

This development comes as Japan’s financial markets continue to monitor global regulatory moves closely, given the growing interest in crypto derivatives and their potential impact on local trading platforms and investor protections.
