The US Dollar showed strength against the British Pound and Indonesian Rupiah on Tuesday, driven by hawkish comments from Federal Reserve officials and ongoing geopolitical tensions. According to FX Street, the GBP/USD pair traded narrowly between 1.3545 and 1.3550, while USD/IDR hovered around 17,770 as the greenback rebounded on firm Fed sentiment.

Gold prices struggled to recover, remaining below $4,450 after dipping under $4,400, pressured by expectations of further Fed rate hikes and the firm US Dollar, FX Street reported. Meanwhile, Bitcoin maintained stability above $78,000 amid similar hawkish Fed expectations, according to CoinDesk.

These developments follow remarks by Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium in August, which reinforced market expectations of continued monetary tightening. For Japanese investors, the US Dollar’s resilience may influence currency and equity market dynamics, especially given Japan’s export sensitivity to USD/JPY fluctuations.
