A political action committee (PAC) supported by Ripple and Coinbase has invested $2 million in a Florida election race, according to CoinTelegraph. Despite the significant funding, the campaign has made little direct reference to cryptocurrency issues.

The Florida representative involved, who is not seeking reelection, previously voted against the GENIUS and CLARITY Acts—two legislative proposals related to crypto regulation. This representative has since endorsed a Democratic candidate, and the PAC’s spending could be linked to negative advertising efforts in the race, CoinTelegraph reported.

For Japanese investors and traders, this development highlights the ongoing intersection of crypto industry interests and political processes in the U.S., which can influence regulatory landscapes and market sentiment globally.
